Worth is an old village on the eastern edge of Crawley, with a Saxon church and a quiet character that survives despite the new town growing around it. The wider RH10 postcode takes in Pound Hill, Maidenbower, Three Bridges, Copthorne and the countryside towards Turners Hill and Worth Abbey. All of it is very close to Gatwick. A taxi from Gatwick Airport to Worth RH10 costs from £39 for a saloon, fixed at booking, and takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Next door to the airport

From Gatwick, the driver usually takes the M23 south for one junction to junction 10, then the A264 east or the B2036 into Worth and Pound Hill. For Three Bridges and the west of RH10, the driver may go through Crawley instead. It is around six miles.

In normal traffic, the trip takes 10 to 15 minutes. The junction 10 roundabout, the Crawley ring road and the school runs around Pound Hill and Maidenbower are the only real slow spots. For early morning and late night arrivals, it is often under ten minutes.

Across RH10

RH10 is a large postcode with very different areas:

  • Worth village, around St Nicholas Church and Church Road, quiet and leafy.
  • Pound Hill and Maidenbower, large residential neighbourhoods on Crawley's eastern side, with many cul-de-sacs that look alike. A house number and the road name help.
  • Three Bridges, around the station and Haslett Avenue, with flats and offices.
  • Copthorne, a village to the north-east, close to the M23 and home to a large hotel and golf club.
  • Turners Hill and the rural lanes towards Worth Abbey and Crawley Down.

Worth Abbey and Worth School

Worth Abbey, a Benedictine monastery, and Worth School share a large estate in the countryside south-east of Crawley, off Paddockhurst Road. The abbey runs retreats and receives visitors from all over the world, and the school has many international boarding pupils. Parents and visitors flying in to Gatwick are a regular part of our work at the start and end of term. Tell us whether you need the abbey, the school or a specific boarding house, and the driver will take you to the right entrance on the estate.

Short trips and the minimum fare

On a journey this short, the fare is about more than miles. Your driver drives to Gatwick, parks in the short-stay car park, meets you in arrivals and waits while you clear passport control and collect your bags, and airport charges apply. That is why the shortest trips have a minimum fare. You get a fixed price and a driver who is already waiting, instead of a queue at the rank and a meter.

Train, bus or taxi?

Three Bridges station is one stop from Gatwick on fast trains, a journey of only a few minutes, and Metrobus services run between Gatwick and the eastern neighbourhoods of Crawley. If you live near the station or a bus route and are travelling light, either works well and is cheaper. For families with luggage, early or late flights, or homes out in Worth, Copthorne or Turners Hill, the car is the easier choice.

Gatwick's drop-off charges

If a neighbour is giving you a lift to Gatwick, the forecourt drop-off zones have cost £10 for the first ten minutes since January 2026, then £1 a minute up to thirty minutes. Cameras log the plate, and payment is due online by midnight the next day. The free option is the Long Stay car park, which allows up to two hours with a shuttle bus. With us, the fixed fare covers it.

Meet and greet

Your driver tracks your flight and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. If your flight is delayed, the pickup moves at no extra cost.

Hotels around Copthorne and the M23

Several hotels sit in the countryside between Gatwick and Worth, around Copthorne, Crawley Down and the M23 junction 10. They are popular with travellers staying the night before an early flight, and with wedding parties and conference guests. If you are staying in one, give us the hotel name and the driver will take you to the main entrance. Many people book us for both legs: Gatwick to the hotel on arrival, and the hotel back to the terminal the next morning.

Families and luggage

For families, an estate or MPV gives space for holiday luggage and pushchairs. Child seats are free; just give us the ages of the children when you book.
